Halloween

Maggie was SO excited about Halloween this year. She knoew she wanted to be a lion probably since this summer. She was very particular. It was to be a costume with a headpiece and she did not want any makeup on her face. I think she was the cutest lion ever! Lila Jane did not dress up this year. On Halloween we headed to Dallas to confirm that Lila Jane had hip dysplacia like Maggie did. Sadly she did and we have her in a Pavlik harness until Christmas. It was so much harder the second time around for us. We know that there are so many much more serious things that could be wrong but when you have to put your sweet baby in a harness it just plain stinks. She had a hard time adjusting to it which was tough on us but I am happy to say we get to take it off Christmas (22 days and counting!) and we are praying that everything is fixed. So needless to say, Halloween was an emotional day and Lila Jane was exhausted so she was in her car seat sans costume this year. Next year she will wear one for sure! We were very busy that night trick or treating at granparents, going to a fun party and ending the night at our churches trunk or treat.

Lila Jane

Sweet Lila Jane made her debut into the world on September 12....2 weeks early. I started having contractions on the 11th and went to the hospital but they sent me home saying that they were cause by dehydration. Which was not strange at all due to the fact that I was pregnant during the hottest summer on RECORD. ;) I was still having them the next morning so I called the doctor again and he wanted to meet me at labor and delivery. So we called everyone, got Maggie situated and headed back to the hospital. Everything happened so fast after we got there. They prepped me for surgery and Danny as well and Lila Jane was born at 3:56 and was 8lb 2 oz and was 20 inches long. She had a little trouble breathing at first and had to be in the nursery for the first 24 hours which was so tough. Seeing your sweet baby for the first time hooked up to monitors when you were not expecting it is not fun. We were thrilled when she was able to be with us in our room.
Maggie has been such a wonderful big sister. She had a hard time at first because one minute she was playing with mommy and the next her sister was here. But after we came home from the hosptial and she was able to back on her routine she was great. She is such a helper to me and has done better during the day when it is just the 3 of us than I could have ever hoped for. I really am so proud of her. Like her sister, Lila Jane was diagnosed with hip dysplacia when she as 3 weeks old and is wearing a harness for three months. Not at all what we had wanted but it is fixable and she has adjusted pretty well. We are loving being a family of four and feel so blessed that God chose us to be parents to Maggie and Lila Jane.

Coming soon...

We are thrilled to announce that Lila Jane Ketner will be joining our family in September. Thankfully this pregnancy has been really easy so far and we cannot wait to hold this precious girl in our arms. God is so good!

Overdue

Where does time go? Blogging has been on my to-do list for quite some time yet it seems to be the one thing that never gets done! Since my last post, we have celebrated Maggie's 3rd birthday, Easter and Mother's Day. As always, we celebrated all of these special days with great friends and family.

Snow 2011

We truly had a great week when we were snowed in. Lots of good food, fires, playing in the snow, jammies all day and just good ole family bonding. Enjoy some pics!
