Ruidoso 2010

Last week we traveled with my family to Ruidoso, NM. We had a great time with everyone. Maggie had horrible allergies the first couple of days and then the twins had the same thing. So thanks to kleenex, vicks and humidifiers we were able to get through the week! Maggie rode a pony for the first time (actually she loved it so much that we went ride twice). She named the ones she rode Apple and Carrot which we thought was so funny and cute. We went on a picnic one day, went to parks, shopped, went looking for deer and just really enjoyed relaxing and being with one another. I took tons of pictures so I will only post some of my favorites.

Kimbell Ranch

This past weekend we went out with our friends to the Kimbell Ranch. It was SO fun to get away with some fun people! We had a great time with our great friends. I took this picture from Lindsey's blog...so thanks Linds!

Fourth of July

I have probably spent every Fourth of July down at the lake and it has always been one of my favorite holidays for that reason. I love that all of the family is together for at least three days and this year was no different. Even though this year it was a bit chaotic (6 adults, a 2 and a half year old, 11 week old twins and 3 dogs in a 1400 sq ft cabin) I would not have trade it for anything! Due to the cramped space my dad bought an Airstream for extra room and we enjoyed it too this weekend. Every year my dad, Adam and Danny put on a firework show. I was a bit nervous about how loud they would be and that Maggie would be scared. So I told her that we were going to have a party because it was America's birthday and there would be pretty fireworks to celebrate and they might be a little loud. She loves any kind of party and this was no different. She told everyone she saw that it was going to be "America's birthday and there would be fireworks and she didn't need to be scared" (direct quote) My dad even bought her head phones from the gun range to help her. She wore them for a little bit but took them off and enjoyed the show with all of us. Enjoy the pictures!

Summer Update

We have been having such a fun summer! We have taken a trip to Sea World, numerous trips to the lake and to the swimming pool. Maggie has become quite the little swimmer and would stay in the water all day. Here are some fun pictures that I have taken. I do not have any pics yet of Sea World but when I do, I will post them.

Whew! What a crazy couple of months!

The title of this post says it all. Simply put, we have had a crazy couple of months! Where do even begin? We did finally get to move into our new house which I am so in love with. I still drive in the driveway and as myself "Is this really my house?" Then I say a quiet prayer to God for His faithfulnnes in allowing this house to possible for us. Maggie loves her new "pink" house too. Since her room is pink, I guess she thinks that her house is pink too. We have a fabulous back driveway/yard that we spend most of our time in playing with sidewalk chalk, swinging, playing with sticks and dirt and picking up rocks. The inside is just as great and we are loving the fact that we are getting back into normal life and able to have friends over to enjoy it with us. If you are asking why we are getting back to normal life you can read all about it on my brother's blog (The Whitmire Family) Now that we have everyone back in the Falls all is great! Lisa is just the best mommy to Henry and Charlotte and the doctors are saying that she will make a full recovery! Adam is juggling new daddyhood and working and no sleep so very well! Looking back on the journey I have been on with them seriously brings tears to my eyes. It has allowed me to lean into my sweet Jesus more than I ever have. I always have thought how selfish it is of me to call out to Jesus in times of crisis 24 hours a day and then in really good times just go on my merry way and kinda forget to be thankful. Due to all of the times of tears of joy and sadness over the last 2 months I am in constant prayer throughout the day. It has made me sing His praises for the little things like Maggie's joyous laugh as well as to call to Him when I hear something terrible has happened. I came across of quote that has dug into my heart lately. "He is Who He was before today" Basically He is the same God in the good times and bad times. It has been so refreshing to allow these words to sink in. I have seen a side of Jesus that I never have before and I am truly thankful for that.
Here is a lot of pictures of the missy (and us) for you to enjoy!

Update on the Whitmire Family

I posted last week that my brother and his wife Lisa's babies were born last week. Tuesday Lisa was daiagnosed with congestive heart failure (due to her high rish pregnancy) and the doctors found blood clots on her heart. (due to her being on bedrest for 2 months) As you can imagine, this has been very difficult for our family to take. You can click on their link to read about the latest prayer needs. Please add them to your list! God is good and will get them through all of this!
